ITV is undergoing a major shake-up as all of its daytime shows – from Lorraine to Loose Women – have been cancelled in wake of the World Cup.

All of the network's daytime programmes have been unceremoniously yanked off air in the wake of the controversial tournament in Qatar, which has taken over the schedule from 9am until 3:15pm.

That means fans of Lorraine, which usually airs from 9am, will be left sorely disappointed.

This Morning was originally scheduled to follow Lorraine at 10am, but the show – helmed by Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield – is also not airing on Tuesday (November 22) or Wednesday.

Loose Women would have then aired from 12:30pm until 1:30pm, but it is also being taken off-air.

ITV Lunchtime has also been pulled.

Thankfully, game show fans need not worry, as the regulars like Tipping Point and The Chase will air as normal from 4pm and 5pm respectively.

Daytime fans will be missing out on their favourite shows until Thursday, when it's a return to regular scheduling until 3pm, when the World Cup takes over once more.

It comes as some fans are sick of the football already, and threatening to 'switch off' their favourite channels if the coverage continues.

Turning to Twitter, one upset fan wrote: "Why do we need to show the whole of the World Cup on the main channels, not everyone is wanting to watch it. Why should we have to do without regular programming?"
