Netflix’s iconic series Stranger Things will conclude after its fifth season, awaiting filming after the SAG-AFTRA strikes – Joe Keery, the 31-year-old actor renowned for his role as Steve Harrington has expressed an array of mixed emotions.
Keery, a Massachusetts native, credits Stranger Things for shaping his career.
He told Women’s Wear Daily: “It does feel like it’s time. I owe my entire career to this show and all subsequent opportunities.”
Reflecting on his journey, he cited it as “an amazing ride” alongside “great people.”
He continued: “Everything has a beginning, middle, and end. It’ll be great to see this chapter conclude.”
Originally filming for season five was slated for June 2023 but was postponed due to the Writers Guild of America (WGA) strike – While no official release date is confirmed, a release before 2025 is much anticipated.

The series’ producers, the Duffer brothers, addressed the delay on Twitter, advocating for a fair deal to resume normal Hollywood operations.
“Duffers here. Writing does not stop when filming begins. While we’re excited to start production with our amazing cast and crew, it is not possible during this strike,” the post read.
They emphasized the importance of writing and shared how eager they are to collaborate with the talented cast and crew.

In February 2022, the Duffer brothers hinted that the series was envisioned for only four or five seasons.
They stated: “Season 4 will be the penultimate season; season 5 will be the last.”
Ross Duffer gave fans a sneak peek on Josh Horowitz’s Happy Sad Confused podcast, hinting that characters will be immediately thrown into action in the upcoming season, promising a distinctive feel.
