BBC Breakfast's Jon Kay made a dig at his co-star's "track record" and gave a warning during the live report.
The news presenter remembered a prior live-on-air incident between Mike Bushell and water, in which he embarrassingly jumped into an Australian swimming pool in 2018.
Mike reported from the Rugby World Cup on the southern coast of France.
In his closing report, Mike praised the city, saying: "The fish are on shore – they have been brought in from the beautiful Mediterranean out there, it's so fresh here. What a lovely diet they have here – coffee, croissants and fresh fish every day. It's wonderful."
He added: "It's paradise. The harbour. The history. It's just beautiful in the sunshine."
Jon showed concern for his co-star, who has a history of live-on-air mishaps involving water.

But Mike shot back, assuring him, "There's a big distance."
But Jon stood firm, saying, "No Mike, even further back than that please – we know your track record!"
