"Mr Fox’s suspension is effective immediately and he has been taken off air. We will be apologising formally to Ms Evans today."
On Tuesday night the channel explained they would be launching an investigation after the comments were made, which they deemed "totally unacceptable".
They wrote: "What he said does not reflect our values and we apologise unreservedly for the comments and the offence they have caused. We have launched an investigation and will be apologising to the individual involved."
It comes after Laurence Fox launched a rant against Ava Evans, a journalist working for online publication JOE after she made comments that appeared to make light of male suicide, which she later stated she regretted making.
Fox then ranted about how unlikeable he felt she was for men and branded her a "little woman" before fuming: "Show me a single self-respecting man who would like to climb into bed with that woman ever who wasn't a cucked little incel."
He added: "We need powerful, strong amazing women who make great points for themselves. We don’t need these sort of feminist 4.0. They’re pathetic and embarrassing. Who’d want to s**g that?”
Dan Wootton appeared to smile after the comments were made, but he has since stated he was shocked and surprised while looking for tweets Ava had sent earlier in the day to read them aloud.
He issued an apology online writing: "Having looked at the footage, I can see how inappropriate my reaction to his totally unacceptable remarks appears to be and want to be clear that I was in no way amused by the comments."
Dan added: "I should have intervened immediately to challenge offensive and misogynistic remarks. I apologise unreservedly for what was a very unfortunate lapse in judgement on my part under the intense pressure of a bizarre exchange."
Ava stated that she felt "physically sick" about the rant made by Fox as she shared the clip on her X profile.
GB News have pinned the update to their profile of Fox's suspension.
