As we all eagerly await the Line of Duty finale this weekend, fans have speculated about who could be the mystery person underneath the balaclava in the trailer for next week’s episode.
As the sixth series of the popular cop drama comes to a close this Sunday, fans have been dissecting the new trailer saying they believe Chief Constable Philip Osborne is the mystery balaclava man.
Sparking speculation actor Craig Parkinson asked his followers: “Thanks for all the #ObsessedWithLineOfDuty comments and theories. I’m sieving through them as quick as I can. How are we feeling about next week? How’s it going to end? Will it be ‘the end’ for some? Keep em coming in.”

To which the comments came flooding in, with many stating their suspicions about Osborne.
“Osborne under the balaclava?” one Line of Duty superfan asked alongside a snapshot of the trailer.
To which another replied: “Rember in the ad for the show Kate takes a balaclava off of someone and is clearly shocked. Defo Osborne.” [sic]

“This definatley looks like Osbourne,” [sic] a fan of the BBC hit programme wrote.
“Could it be Osborne in the balaclava? @Cparks1976 #ObsessedWithLineOfDuty #LineOfDuty #LineofDuty6,” one other Twitter user penned.
Kick-starting a debate an onlooker argued: “Meant to look like him – there’s no way Osborne would don a balaclava – he’s way too high up.” [sic]
With another unconvinced watcher saying the new character, “Seems short for Osborne.”
As people keep on guessing, the penultimate episode of Line of Duty broke record ratings.
An average of 11 million viewers tuned in last Sunday night making it the drama’s most-watched episode to date.
The impressive figures follow from the trailer which shows the mystery person in a balaclava and hints that the widely talked about BBC One show might be over.
"Every investigation has led to this," the promo clip revealed.
As H features in the dramatic finale trailer, there’s scope for viewers to finally find out who the unknown corrupt cop known as ‘H’ is.
The sixth episode, which stole the attention of 51.7% of the UK’s TV audience over the weekend reached the highest overnight drama Doctor Who's Christmas Day special in 2008.
The show made a come back to our screens in March this year and adopted an impressive 9.6 million viewers of the first episode.
