Lisa Riley returns to filming Emmerdale after family tragedy

Lisa Riley has revealed that she’s returned to Emmerdale after a family bereavement.

The actress, who plays Mandy Dingle, had taken a break from the ITV soap following the devastating death of her grandmother.

She didn’t attend The British Soap Awards earlier this month, with co-star James Hooton telling viewers during the ceremony that her absence was due to a ‘family issue’.

Lisa, however, is back in the Dales, and she delighted fans with news of her comeback on social media.

‘Just finished filming a lovely day in studio at @emmerdale,’ she wrote on Instagram alongside a new selfie. ‘Now on my way in the car down south to film something else for the day…

‘should be a REALLY good giggle, I’m looking forward for it.’

Lisa kept shtum on what her other project entails, but it’s safe to say that fans were excited about the prospect of Mandy’s Emmerdale return.

‘Miss Mandy in Emmerdale,’ wrote one fan. ‘but I hope you are keeping well x’

Another social media user asked when Mandy will be back on our screens, and Lisa replied: ‘Middle of July.’
