Timothy West issues update on Prunella Scales’ health
Loose Women fans were left emotional by Timothy West after the 89-year-old appeared on the ITV show.
During Tuesday’s episode, the actor spoke about his wife Prunella Scales, who was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease in 2014.
On the show, panellist Coleen Nolan said: “I have to ask, how is Prunella?”
He replied: “Well she’s OK, doing well. It has been about 10 years since somebody first pointed out we should go and have a demonstration to hear what a doctor thought about the future.
“He [the doctor] said, ‘We know about this, it is a situation in which, I’m afraid very rarely does it get any better, you’re just going to have to live with it.'”

Timothy told the panel that the doctor explained not an enormous amount had to change in their lives.
The 89-year-old was told they’d be able to live their lives without thinking too much about whether or not it would be a difficult situation.
Curious, Janet Street-Porter asked: “Does she live in the moment then?”
Timothy replied: “Oh yes! Well, she lives as we do, we talk about what’s going on at the moment and it’s very like our normal lives.
“We all have times don’t we where we say, ‘Oh do you remember so and so?’ and they say, ‘What do you mean?’

His comment made the panel and audience laugh as they revealed situations like that happen all the time.
It wasn’t long before fans watching took to Twitter to show their love and support for the English actor.
@W1966Caroline said: “What a lovely couple Timothy and Pru such a shame we have to grow old & deal with all that it throws at us. Life is so very short.”
