Loose Women star Nadia Sawalha accused Kaye Adams of leaving her high and dry during a link on the ITV programme. During a segment on the daytime show Nadia and the panel were unimpressed by the anchor’s link at the expense of the panelist as the pair jokingly clashed on Thursday’s instalment.

During a segment about a certain look in famous movies, mostly centred around Christmas, Kaye turned her attention to her long-time co-star Nadia.

She said: “I’m trying to save you here Nadia, pay attention. It’s called the frazzled English woman look.”

After a gasp from the studio audience Kaye added: “There you go, that was me trying to save her!”

Nadia replied: “Oh, by throwing me under the bus?” tbut Kaye reassured her friend she was “her favourite frazzled woman”.

She tried to make up with Nadia by adding “there’s a compliment coming.”

The link continued with Kaye explaining Kate Winslet’s character in The Holiday, Keira Knightley and Laura Linney roles in Love Actually were examples of the “frazzled English woman”.

Kaye told Nadia: “Of course, Bridget Jones, well you are a bit Bridget Jones aren’t you?”

Katie Piper stepped in to defend the speechless Nadia, who was sat alongside Judi Love.

She remarked: “This is getting like a personal attack,” before the four panelists laughed off the potentially tense exchange.

Nadia and Kaye can share a joke with each other now, but they have previously discussed their dislike for one another.

When the pair were first introduced on the ITV show, they both said they “couldn’t stand each other”.

Nadia previously remarked on a past show: “When I got the job I said, ‘What, every day with her!?'”

Another awkward exchange occurred on Wednesday’s edition of Loose Women, during a discussion over Father Christmas.

Kelly Holmes swore as she vented on body image during a feature surrounding whether Santa ought to lose weight.

She said: “I’m sorry but I’ve been in health and fitness all my life but I would literally not care if Santa was fat, thin, black, white, gay, straight.

“I just want the b****y presents,” the Olympic gold medalist remarked before covering her mouth in shock.

She recoiled and apologised: “Oh that’s going to be all over the papers now, I just want presents, give me the presents.”

One fellow panelist chose not to tease the former athlete any further.

Katie insisted: “Don’t worry, you are going to get your present. We have got your present.”

However Denise ribbed her with: “That’s Dame Kelly Holmes!”
