I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! makes its return to ITV this weekend with a brand new series. A star-studded line-up will soon be setting up camp at Gwrych Castle in Abergele, Wales. One of the celebrity contestants this year is former BBC Breakfast presenter Louise Minchin. In an exclusive interview with Express.co.uk, Louise’s BBC co-star Owain Wyn Evans has revealed how he thinks she’ll handle the terrifying trials on I’m A Celeb.

On Sunday night, ITV announced the official line-up for this year’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

Many BBC Breakfast fans were thrilled to see Louise Minchin had signed up for the hit TV show.

Chatting exclusively to Express.co.uk, Louise’s former BBC Breakfast co-star Owain shared his thoughts about her going into Gwrych Castle.

When asked if he thinks Louise will do well on I’m A Celebrity, Owain replied: “Oh my gosh! Louise is a great person, you know, and she’s so lovely.

“She’s just a genuinely nice person and I think what’s great about Louise is she is a great all-rounder.

“She’s a nice person, super experienced journalist, great presenter, and I think would just be really fun to be around.

“So yeah, to be honest, I think you could slot Louise into any situation almost and she would be fabulous at it!” Owain remarked.

Weather reporter Owain isn’t the only BBC Breakfast star who will be cheering the presenter on, as Dan Walker has also shared his excitement for Louise.

After the I’m A Celebrity line-up news broke, Dan quickly took to Twitter to comment.

“Morning all… can’t wait to watch @louiseminchin on the telly again. My phone bill is going to be enormous!” Dan Tweeted.

Before heading onto I’m A Celebrity, Louise revealed what she might find difficult about the show.

The presenter explained: “The biggest challenge for me is going to be small spaces.

“I can’t get in a lift with too many people in and I would rather walk up the stairs than get in the lift.

“And anything with cockroaches, spiders or rats I will squeal and scream. That is not my idea of fun at all!” Louise confessed.

She continued: “My family are very worried I will scream a lot and make a terrible fuss.

“But, they are also really excited because they know how much I love challenging myself.”

The presenter made it clear she’s looking forward to having fun on the ITV reality show.

“My job is incredibly serious – especially so over the past 18 months – and I am really looking forward to the change doing I’m A Celebrity,” Louise explained.

The presenter will be heading into Gwrych Castle alongside confirmed contestants: Richard Madeley, Arlene Phillips, Frankie Bridge, David Ginola, Matty Lee, Naughty Boy, Kadeena Cox, Danny Miller and Snoochie Shy.

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! premieres Sunday at 9pm on ITV.
