The pair tied the knot in 1998 before splitting in 2017 – just months after her appearance on Strictly Come Dancing.
During an appearance on Heart Breakfast earlier this morning, the 44-year-old star spoke to hosts Jamie Theakston and Lucy Horobin about their split.
Louise explained: "It’s been really tough, but, you know, he’s my best friend.
"It’s been really tough but things happen. I saw him yesterday and it was all good.
"We had school meetings and stuff, like you do, so all good."
The star also admitted that she was supporting her ex father-in-law, Harry Redknapp, during his stint in the I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! jungle last year.
Revealing that she and her two children tuned in daily, the singer said: "Every night, of course!
"My kids were going crazy laughing! Yes, we all watched him every night."
Louise revealed that 10-year-old Beau and Charley, 14, were particularly stunned to see their grandfather do so well with the Bushtucker Trials.
She added: "I just don’t think they could believe it was him, because he just doesn’t do things like that!
"So they’re like 'is Pop really gonna eat that? Is Pop really gonna do that?'
"The kids were super proud of him, and for a whole three and a half weeks that was our nightly viewing obviously."
Jamie and Louise officially filed for divorce in December 2017, with it being reported that their marriage had fallen victim to the infamous Strictly Curse.
Friends said at the time that the BBC One dance show put a "strain" on their relationship – with Louise's career prospects soaring following her appearance and requiring a lot of travel.
The Sun's Bizarre column also reported at the time that Louise's close friendship with 30-year-old model Daisy Lowe impacted her marriage.
Sources said that spending time with Daisy helped Louise "rediscover her youth" as she realised that she wanted to return to the showbiz industry and focus on her career.
