Married at First Sight UK star Tasha Jay was rushed to A&E after celebrating her co-star’s birthday. The 25 year old revealed her ordeal on her Instagram stories on Sunday, 3 December.
Tasha went on a night of partying with her MAFS friends Matt Pilmoor and Shona Manderson – who have since started dating. But later Tasha posted that she and husband Paul Liba, who she met on the show, ended the day in hospital.
In her next social media story, Tasha shows off her injury. She starts off by saying: “I’m sorry, but this is a joke”, while holding up her wounded hand wrapped up in a bandage.
Tasha continues: “For the people that care, basically when I had my carpal tunnel surgery, the cut I got – it just healed, all my stitches dissolved and then somehow last night I managed to rip it all open. So I’ve got to have this on for another week.
“I’m fuming, I’ve only just taken my other one off. Now I've got another one back on.”
Tasha had a bad experience when she had her carpal tunnel surgery in November. After asking for advice from her fans, Tasha went ahead with the procedure – but later took to socials to update everyone on the situation.
“Awful, awful. I've got no words. I'm traumatised. Today has been awful. Not to scare anyone that's having the surgery done but everyone that told me it didn't hurt you liars, liars. I screamed, I filled three sick bowls and nearly passed out. Disgusting."
Luckily, Tasha has her boyfriend Paul, 26, by her side – although she had recently had to deny rumours that she was dating MAFS' Arthur Poremba.
Tasha and Paul were matched on Married at First Sight UK which kicked off in September and drew to a close nine-weeks later. They hit it off straight away, they only had a few rough patches in the experiment and ultimately decided to stay together after their final vows.
The pair were forced to spend a few days apart on the show before their final decision. And they were reunited, Tasha poured her heart out to Paul in her vows as she said:
"Paul, you are one of the few people who has come into my life who I feel I can count on, who will never knowingly hurt me and who will never betray my trust, you bring out the best in me and help me open up and express emotions. I choose you now, tomorrow and forever."
