Matthew Perry 911 call gives major clue into Friends stars cause of death

The 911 dispatch call for Mathew Perry has been released, shedding light on the actor's potential cause of death.

Matthew, who was best known for playing Chandler Bing in the popular sitcom Friends, was found dead at his Los Angeles home at age 54 on October 28. There were no signs of drugs or foul play at the scene.

A clip of the 911 audio was obtained by TMZ, where a man is heard saying “rescue 23” and “drowning.”

Parts of the 16-second clip were bleeped out.

Emergency services rushed to Matthew's home after receiving a call at 4.07pm that the star had suffered a cardiac arrest. But when they arrived, they reportedly found the star lifeless in his jacuzzi.

According to TMZ, the actor had returned home following a game of pickleball and sent his assistant out on an errand. But when the aide returned home just two hours later, he found Matthew unresponsive and immediately called for help.

When emergency services arrived they started a water rescue, but were tragically unsuccessful at saving the actor's life.

Pictures from the scene have been released, which appear to show a white police tent next to Matthew's jacuzzi.

Matthew's neighbour has revealed that he "saw too much" at the scene of the Friends star's tragic death.

The 17 year old told the US Sun that he and his siblings witnessed the tragic situation unfolding.

He said: “They were outside my neighbour’s door. I didn’t think much of it at the time until police started arriving and everything. They didn’t hammer the door, they kept silent.

“It was very disturbing, and very sad after all those years… from what he’s gone through and his addictions and whatever.

“I saw everything, I feel bad for my younger siblings. I was very sad. At the same time I did kind of expect it in some sense, but I didn’t expect it to be so soon. He’d not lived there long."

The youngster also revealed that he and Matthew, who he looked up to, had chatted once and he described him as a "friendly and very nice genuine guy."

On Sunday night, Matthew's family said they were "heartbroken" as they broke their silence following the actor's tragic death.

In a heartbreaking statement shared with People, the late actor's family members said: "We are heartbroken by the tragic loss of our beloved son and brother.

"Matthew brought so much joy to the world, both as an actor and a friend."

They concluded: "You all meant so much to him and we appreciate the tremendous outpouring of love."
