Naga Munchetty usually co-presents BBC Breakfast with Charlie Stayt between Thursday and Saturday. While Dan Walker co-hosts the programme with Sally Nugent between Monday and Wednesday. Naga has been absent from the red sofa all week, with Nina Warhurst stepping in to co-host the show with Charlie Stayt. However, on Saturday, Charlie and Naga were both absent from the programme, with Jon Kay and Nina stepping in to host the latest news headlines.

Despite her absence from BBC Breakfast, Naga did present her radio show on BBC 5 Live on Monday and Tuesday.

The 46-year-old landed her new show earlier this year after replacing Emma Barnett.

Dan Walker was also absent from the BBC studio on Wednesday, with Jon stepping in to co-host with Sally Nugent.

This wasn’t the first time this week Dan has been absent from the sofa this week as Jon also stepped in to co-host the programme on Tuesday.
