Nate Robinson (Jurrell Carter) is delighted in Emmerdale next week after receiving a promotion courtesy of boss and uncle Caleb Miligan (William Ash).
The former farmhand secured a job working for a driving firm after reconnecting with school friend Corey, who has a top job at the company.
Caleb, meanwhile, owns said company and he’s been discreetly putting work Cain Dingle’s (Jeff Hordley) way, determined to make amends for almost bankrupting he and Moira (Natalie J Robb) earlier this year.
Knowing Cain would never accept his cash, he used Corey to offer Cain the business, keeping his own name out if it, but when Nate stumbled upon the truth in his hunt for a job, he decided to use this knowledge as leverage to secure himself a paid position at the firm.
Despite the initial happiness over full-time employment, Nate’s life has since been turned upside down, after Corey, who has been using the firm’s resources for dodgy jobs, tasked him with overseeing client Harry (Robert Beck), who is as dodgy as they come!
Things are looking up for Nate, however, after Caleb offers him a promotion, impressed with his nephew’s work ethic.
Corey, meanwhile, is less than pleased to know Nate’s now his boss, with the above clip, taken from Wednesday’s (August 30) offering of the ITV soap, seeing him get in touch with Caleb to complain.
Afterwards, Cain enters the cafe and makes it clear that he’s not happy about Nate and Caleb’s blossoming family relationship, with a heated exchange ensuing between the father and son.
Caleb, however, urges Nate to go gentle on Cain, reiterating that Cain can never know he’s the one pushing business to the garage – while also revealing that Chas (Lucy Pargeter) knows about their involvement in the driving firm.
Cain, however, will prove to be the least of Caleb’s worries, as subsequent scenes will see him cross paths with Harry, who proves pretty much straight away that he’s not to be messed with, with his heavies carrying out a violent attack.
Emmerdale airs these scenes on Wednesday August 30 at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
