Night Coppers viewers horrified as toddler found wandering the streets alone at night | The Sun

VIEWERS were horrified by last night’s episode of Night Coppers which saw two members of Brighton’s police force attend to a toddler who was wandering the streets alone.

Channel 4’s new cop documentary Night Coppers follows a group of offices "who police Brighton’s hectic nightlife scene.”

In the latest episode of the series, two Brighton cops had to reunite a mother and daughter and after the little girl had been found wandering alone outside in the train by her neighbours.

The incident occurred toward the end of Tuesday night’s episode of Night Coppers, and viewers immediately took to Twitter to express their shock at the events.

One said: “Poor mite scared to death #NightCoppers.”

“What time of night is this child on the streets? #NightCoppers,” a second viewer questioned.

“This poor little girl #NightCoppers,” a third said in sympathy.

Other viewers criticised the little girl’s mother for not noticing she’d wandered outside.

“What a dopey mother – some people shouldn’t be allowed to mind kids… #NightCoppers,” said a Channel 4 viewer.

“‘Why are you out here?’ Because you let her out, Mum of the year. Stupid cow. #NightCoppers,” commented another viewer.

Thankfully, the police officers found the little girl safe and sound in the care of her neighbours down the street.

After arriving on the scene, the cops deduced that the toddler, who was around two or three years old, had followed her mum outside while she was putting recycling out and she hadn’t noticed her daughter come outside.

The cops were about to reunite the little girl with the mother quickly. However, she didn’t seem overly concerned that her daughter had been outside by herself, so they went inside the flat to make sure she was safe.

After they left, the officers reported the incident to social services.

These events occurred in last night’s episode, which was the fourth episode in Night Coppers first season.

Only four episodes into the new show, it has already received positive reviews from viewers.

One praised the show, saying: “I’ve enjoyed this series, yes, I know the police are just human beings like everybody else & they aren’t the enemy etc, but, I rate how this programme’s shown their humourous side & their more vulnerable side, as well…”

“What an amazingly honest brilliant series. Well done to the production team and the police,” another said.
