Outlander: Season 7 part 2 teaser for STARZ drama
There have been several new additions to the hit historical drama Outlander in its latest season. Fans finally got to see the adult version of the son Jamie Fraser (played by Sam Heughan) fathered in season three, William Ransom (Charles Vandervaart). Quaker brother and sister duo, Rachel (Izzy Meikle-Small) and Denzell Hunter (Joey Phillips) also joined the cast.
And Izzy has reminisced on her first time meeting one of her co-stars. While she did a chemistry test with John Bell, who plays Young Ian on the show, as part of the audition process, she didn’t meet Charles until they started filming.
She recounted one of their very first encounters while speaking to Town & Country. The scene in question was actually quite an intimate one between the two, as it involved Izzy shaving Charles’ face.

She said with a laugh: “I was like nice to meet you, I’m going to lean in and shave your face now.”
Izzy also described how comforting it was to work alongside her on-screen brother, Joey. She outlined: “It’s just been so great to have someone to hold your hand throughout this kind of whirlwind experience, to know exactly what you’re going through.”
The two “clicked straight-away,” while Izzy commented on the “familiarity” between them. She concluded: “I think we’re both quite chill people.”

Despite joining the hit Starz show in its penultimate season, Izzy noted how “exciting” it had been to become part of the Outlander family, even if it had been slightly “daunting” at first due to the fact many of the cast members had been working together since the very first episode, which aired in 2014.
She added: “I think it’s fun to bring new energy to a cast that’s been around for a long time.”
Izzy went on to describe how welcoming the existing cast had been and in particular John, who grew up close to Glasgow. “He was very good about taking us under his wing at the weekends and showing us the sights,” she revealed.
While the season seven midseason finale left fans eager to see what will happen next, it may be some time until the conclusion of the penultimate season appears on screens.
Starz, who air the show in America, have yet to confirm a definitive date for the next batch of episodes.
But it looks as though it will most likely be some time in 2024.
Outlander airs on Starz in the US, and streams on Lionsgate+ in the UK.
