The This Morning presenter confessed he is missing his "telly wife" after she stepped in for Ant McPartlin as co-host of this year's series of the ITV reality show.
Speaking to the Daily Star, Phillip, 56, insisted that 37-year-old Holly's stint down under is only a "caretaker role" and that she won't be returning.
He explained: "Holly has been a triumph in the jungle.
"I am so pleased because it's worked out so well for Dec in what was a tricky situation.
"It was always going to be a difficult series for Dec so I was happy Holly was able to step in."
He then added: "But I can assure you it's very much a caretaker role.
"Don't get too attached."
Rochelle Humes is covering for Holly as This Morning presenter while the blonde beauty is in Australia, and though Phillip admitted that it has been "fun" to work with the singer, he is still looking forward to catching up with Holly.
He said: "It has been lovely working with Rochelle, she was my first choice and it's been great fun.
"But Dec got very lucky – he's looking after my telly wife.
"When Holly gets back we will go out for a drink and a catch-up about it all."
Holly stepped in to replace Ant in the Aussie jungle after he bowed out of his work commitments to focus on his recovery for alcohol and drug addiction.
The star has been warmly received by viewers after joining Ant's usual partner-in-crime, Dec, for the ITV reality show.
Unfortunately for Phil, fans have even called for Holly to return alongside Ant and Dec for next year's series as they have enjoyed her hilarious reactions to the gruesome Bushtucker Trials.
One fan tweeted: "Can we please have Ant, Dec and Holly presenting next year?"
Another added: "@hollywills is like the cutest thing ever, keep her on this show for the future – even better, have Ant, Dec and Holly presenting."
Holly previously admitted that she was thrilled to have been asked to stand in for Ant, saying at the time: "I couldn't be more excited to have been asked to stand alongside Dec for the next jungle adventure.
"I love Ant and want to send him my best wishes and support for a continued recovery. These are big shoes, not to fill, but just to keep warm for a little bit."
She also admitted that she'd hoped to never be offered the prestigious I'm A Celeb presenting spot, telling the Daily Star: "It was a job I never wanted to be offered because no one ever wanted the day to come when it was Dec without Ant.
"I told Ant that I would look after his show for him – because it's still his show – and I would look after Dec for him."
