Ben Shepherd 'confirmed' to replace Phil Schofield on This Morning
This Morning’s wholesome reputation was tarnished this year during the Phillip Schofield scandal – but is it time for the magazine show to be cancelled for good?
Phillip had presented the show for 21 years before quitting after admitting to an affair with a younger male colleague earlier this year.
Since then, several claims have been made about “toxicity” on the show.
Many have called for it to be taken off air, with one petition launched after both Phillip and Holly Willoughby were involved in the queuegate scandal following Queen Elizabeth II’s death.

Although it has been several months since Phillip’s exit from the show, he hasn’t been officially replaced.
Instead, Holly has been co-hosting with a group of other presenters on a rotating basis.
These include regular Friday hosts Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary as well as Josie Gibson, Craig Doyle and Ben Shephard.
ITV told Express.co.uk on Monday that “no decisions have been made”.

Phillip Schofield spotted on TV four months after he resigned from ITV[VIDEO]
Holly joined This Morning back in 2009, and she and Phillip seemed to be the best of friends on and off-screen.
Ahead of Phillip’s departure from the show though, it was rumoured he and Holly were embroiled in an intense feud.
Days later, Phillip quit the programme and Holly made a lengthy statement following a short break.
She told viewers: “You, me, and all of us at This Morning gave our love and support to someone who was not telling the truth, who acted in a way that they themselves felt that they had to resign from ITV and step down from a career that they loved.
“That is a lot to process. And it’s equally hard to see the toll that it’s taken on their own mental health.

“I think what unites us all now is a desire to heal for the health and wellbeing of everyone.
“I hope that, as we start this new chapter and get back to a place of warmth and magic that this show holds for all of us, we can find strength in each other.”
Despite the show seeming to have moved on from the controversy though, some have argued for the daytime programme to be axed.
This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV.
