Power Book II: Ghost: A look at the dramatic finale
Power Book II: Ghost followed the journey of Tariq St Patrick (played by Michael Rainey Jr) and mum Tasha St Patrick (Naturi Naughton) a few weeks after the murder of dad and ex-husband James “Ghost” St Patrick (Omari Hardwick). Tariq was attending university while Tasha was behind bars for Ghost’s murder with her son selling drugs on campus to pay for her lawyer Davis Maclean (Cliff “Method Man” Smith). Earlier on in the season, Tasha stood up in court and put the blame on thug Tommy Egan (Joseph Sikora), claiming he actually pulled the trigger on Ghost.

Is Tommy Egan dead in Power Book 2?
Tasha has been desperate to keep Tariq out of prison, not only by going to jail herself but by stitching up violent drug dealer Tommy for the murder.
She brought his name up in court at the very beginning of series one of Power Book II and ever since, fans have been hoping Tommy would show up.
Creator Courtney Kemp previously teased: “I don’t know: If somebody said in court that I did something that I didn’t do, I might feel compelled to show up, maybe, and talk to them about it?”
Thankfully, fans were not left disappointed as Tommy did show up in series one, episode 10.

Unfortunately for Tasha, Tommy wasn’t visiting to reminisce about happier times gone by.
He wanted to seek his revenge against her for trying to pin the blame of Ghost’s murder on him.
His first attempt to kill Tasha didn’t go according to plan but then Tariq suggests an idea benefitting all of them.
Tariq staged a car chase where it looked like Tommy was following Tasha but really the police were behind him and ready to put him away for good.
However, the car chase ended up in a massive explosion and the police presumed Tommy was dead with even a few of his molars being found as DNA proof of his death.
This had all be set up though to make the officers believe Tommy, who they thought was Ghost’s murderer, was dead.
So this would mean Tasha was in the clear and Tommy could go off and live his new life away from New York.
While he originally said he was going to do this, Tommy planned to try and attack Tasha again before she ran off with daughter Yaz (Amaya Carr) and Tariq.
But aware of what his uncle his like, Tariq told the police there was a threat against Tasha’s life and so she was taken in under the witness protection programme.

Furious he wasn’t able to get his revenge Tommy was ready to kill Tariq instead.
He was pointing a gun at the youngster by Ghost’s grave when Monet Tejada (Mary J. Blige) came to the teen’s rescue.
She had the gun aimed at Tommy’s head and told him to leave before she pulled the trigger.
So despite the police thinking Tommy was dead, he was alive by the end of Power Book II.
Tommy wouldn’t have been killed in the Power Book II finale as he has got his own spin-off show coming up.
Power Book IV: Force will be about Tommy’s new life in Los Angeles, following the events of Ghost’s death and now the attempted killings of Tasha and Tariq.
Tommy isn’t someone to let things go though so will he still be determined to get his revenge in his series as well?
Power Book 2 is available to watch on Starz and Starzplay.
