Power season 6 theories: Did Tariq shoot Ghost? Here’s the evidence

Power fans were shocked by the ending of season 6’s midseason finale and cannot wait until the show’s return to Starz and Netflix in the New Year. Theories of who the shooter is are emerging with many believing Tariq could be behind it. Here’s the evidence it could be him.

Theory: Did Tariq shoot Ghost in Power?

Tariq is the son of James “Ghost” St Patrick and it’s fair to say they don’t exactly have the best relationship.

Throughout season six, Tariq and Ghost have made numerous threats about killing each other, so did Tariq step up and finally take action?
One fan shared their theory on Twitter after watching an episode.
They wrote: “So ghost killed his daddy whose name is breeze and Tariq decides to do ghost the same way #PowerTv.”

After Tariq killed Ray Ray (Marcus Callender) in season four for murdering his sister Raina (Donshea Hopkins), Ghost wanted his son to hand himself in.
Pressure has been mounting between the two of them since this happened so it could have finally pushed Tariq over the edge.
The fact he has already killed once shows he is capable of pulling a trigger on someone.
But perhaps it would have more to do with his mum.

Ghost’s ex-wife and Tariq’s mum Tasha (Tasha (Naturi Naughton) has been fighting with Ghost for a number of series now in a bid to keep her son out of jail.
He also threatened to turn her in to the police for killing LaKeisha Grant (La La Anthony).
If Tariq heard this, he could have felt he had to protect his mother and could only keep her safe by getting rid of his dad for good.
The show seems like it is setting Tariq up as the successor to his father’s drug business so it would make sense to get rid of Ghost so he could take his place.

However, Tariq is just one of several suspects in the firing line.
The other main suspects are Sax (Joseph Sikora), Tommy (Joseph Sikora), Tasha, Tate (Larenz Tate), Paz (Elizabeth Rodriguez) and Dre (Rotimi).
Power season six will return on Star on January 5, 2020.
The season will continue the day after on Netflix for the final five episodes.

Power season 6 is available to watch on Star and Netflix.
