RHOC's Nermina Pieters-Mekic reveals breast cancer battle while pregnant at 33 | The Sun

REAL Housewives of Cheshire star Nermina Pieters-Mekic is battling breast cancer.

The33-year-old – who's married to West Brom footballer Erik Pieters – is currently undergoing chemotherapy.


Nermina says she will find out in December if she will need surgery, having been diagnosed with early-stage aggressive breast cancer.

She was devastated to discover she was pregnant at the same time.

Nermina told OK! Magazine: “I was pregnant when I found out I had cancer, it broke my heart we couldn’t keep the baby – nobody should ever find themselves in that unthinkable position.”

Nermina – a former showjumper – said she couldn't face leaving her two-year-old daughter Alaya to grow up without her.

She previously penned a heartbreaking message about her diagnosis on Instagram, saying her "life had changed forever".

She added: "A few months ago I felt a lump in my left breast and I decided to see a GP who didn’t seem overly concerned.

“After some convincing from my mum, I decided to investigate it further as the lump was getting sore and growing.

"I’m so grateful that I did because on the July 10th I got diagnosed with an early-stage aggressive breast cancer.

“I will never be able to describe how I felt that day and the days after that.

"My heart was broken, I was scared and I had so many questions.. I’m healthy and fit so how is this possible for someone of my age?

"But one question scared me the most and it makes me upset even writing it down – 'Will I see my little princess grow up?'

"My days were filled with hospital appointments every day and there were so many decisions to be made. I had to make some of the hardest decisions in my life."
