Suella Braverman warns of 'forces' trying to stop small boats pledge
Good Morning Britain presenter Richard Madeley slammed Home Secretary Suella Braverman after she “refused” to answer his line of questioning when it came to her new police force plan.
After asking her what had gone wrong within the system and she avoided answering twice, he slammed: “On behalf of the viewers watching this programme who may have been burgled last night, please stop generalising and telling us how great it all is in other areas.
“Please deal with these figures, two per cent, four per cent and six per cent. This is the third time of asking within two minutes, I want a specific answer please Home Secretary, not a generalised answer that everything is lovely.
“Now tell us what has gone wrong,” to which Braverman meekly replied: “I am not saying that at all, it is not good enough and that is why I have challenged the police.”
Still frustrated with her answer, Madeley interjected and spoke over her: “What has gone wrong Home Secretary? What has gone wrong?”
Madeley wasn’t the only one who seemed to be getting annoyed at Braverman ignoring their questions as Kate Garraway also snapped at the MP.
As Braverman began to speak, Garraway interjected and asked that she answer the questions that they were asking rather than explaining what she wanted people to hear.
With Suella dodging the questions, viewers of the show took to their Twitter accounts to slam the MP.
Lisa Jones commented: “Why doesn’t she just answer the questions they are asking? Then she wouldn’t be annoyed that they keep talking over her?”
@MarjorieNILES added: “I love how determined Kate and Richard are to get Suella to answer their questions! A car crash interview but very entertaining I must say.”
John Admiles added: “I had to switch over. I could see the frustration in Kate and Richard’s faces and voices after Suella ignored their questions every single time!”
@KatyBaby said: “Why go on a morning show to be interviewed just to ignore all their questions anyway? It doesn’t make sense! If you don’t want to answer their questions then don’t go. Simple as.” (sic)
