The matter of employment is causing issues for Gemma Winter (Dolly-Rose Campbell) and Chesney Brown (Sam Aston) in Coronation Street as they decide it’s high time to start bringing in some more cash to support the quads.
They have been struggling as best they can but with Dev Alahan’s (Jimmi Harkishin) reduced shifts for Bernie (Jane Hazelgrove) at the kebab shop and the pandemic hitting, things have become harder and harder.
And Gemma decides that it’s time for action.
Gemma urges Chesney and Bernie to find more work as she’s sick of living hand to mouth. Bernie asks Roy for shifts at the cafe while Ches persuades Kirk to give him a part-time job in packing.
Gemma begs Jenny for a few shifts in the Rovers but when they realise they’ve all taken on extra jobs and there’ll be no one to look after the quads, Chesney agrees to turn down the job at the factory.
As Gemma gets ready to leave for work, Bernie’s pleased to see her so upbeat. Gemma tells Ches how much she enjoyed her shift behind the bar and how lucky she feels.
But just as things are looking up, is everything as it seems? Or is Gemma set to head for another setback?
With turmoil between Scott and Johnny at the pub, could it soon lead to Gemma being embroiled in a serious conflict, with Scott holding the cards which could be the tipping point for Johnny and Jenny’s marriage?
