Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) has found himself caught up in all sorts of criminal activity in Emmerdale, as evil DI Malone (Mark Womack) continues to remind him what he’s capable of, but Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) became somewhat suspicious of her soon-to-be-ex-husband’s actions during tonight’s episode.
Malone has well and truly made his presence felt since his arrival in the eponymous village several months ago, and he’s left many a resident terrified as a result.
With him having proven what he’s capable of when he murdered Moira’s bull — not to mention threatening Billy (Jay Kontzle) with prison — Cain has found himself at the dodgy copper’s beck and call.
As a result, he’s become somewhat distracted — something that Moira picked up on during tonight’s episode, as she realised his mind was elsewhere. Showing her concern, Moira quizzed Cain as to what was on his mind, but he attempted to shut her snooping down.
However, given that Moira’s not one for being told what to do, she continued her sleuthing, and quizzed Harriet (Katherine Dow Blyton) — who inadvertently gave the farmer a clue when she revealed that Cain’s not best pleased with Will (Dean Andrews).
Moira’s evidently worried about Cain, and now with her having the first piece of the puzzle, it’s likely only a matter of time before she works out what’s going on.
The question is: will she be able to save Cain?
They may not be together, but it’s clear that Moira would do anything to protect him — something she proved when she helped him cover up Nate’s (Jurrell Carter) shooting a couple of months back — so will she aid him in the Malone situation also?
Only time will tell, but one thing’s for sure: Moira will no doubt continue to search for clues.
Emmerdale continues Friday 24 April at 7pm on ITV.
