Stephen's drowning victim confirmed as huge clue is dropped in Corrie?

Stephen Reid (Todd Boyce) is set to kill again in upcoming scenes, and Coronation Street may have just dropped a massive hint as to who it might be.

So far, viewers have narrowed it down to three potential victims: Wife-to-be Elaine Jones (Paula Wilcox), professional protégé Michael Bailey (Ryan Russell), and sleazy businessman Rufus Donahue (Steven Meo).

In recent scenes, Corrie seemed to be hinting that it may be the latter of those three that falls victim to Stephen’s murderous ways, following in the footsteps of Leo and Teddy Thompkins.

Fans of the show will know that Rufus is currently blackmailing Stephen, after finding out that he had been drugging Carla Barlow (Alison King) with LSD.

In return for his silence, Rufus demanded that Stephen cut ties with his American contacts and instead let him sort out a US deal for Nippersnapper.

Stephen accepted the bargain, and was forced to lie to his colleagues about why the deal with the Americans was no longer going ahead.

After some determination from Michael to get the deal back on track, Stephen was forced to explain Rufus’ involvement, claiming that he had given Stephen a counteroffer that couldn’t be refused.

Desperate to show his business prowess, Michael chased Owen and Angelique for a higher offer, leaving Stephen in a very difficult position.

Instead of trying to worm his way out of the deal once more, he instead called for a meeting with Rufus, where he planned to re-evaluate the terms of their agreement.

Stephen tried to get Rufus to settle for 10% of the net profits of the US deal, but was forced to give over the 25% that Rufus demanded.

In order to celebrate his success, Rufus decided to order some wine to take back to his new house, which he revelled in showing off to Stephen.

As part of his boasting, he claimed that the swimming pool was ‘amazing’.

Swimming pool, you say?

Could Stephen be set to murder Rufus in his very own home?
