DIY SOS: Nick Knowles left in tears over performance
Strictly Come Dancing professional Katya Jones was left in floods of tears after one of the True Colours members shared an emotional tribute to her late father.
Katya, alongside Luba Mushtuck, Nancy Xu and Graziano Di Prima joined Nick Knowles and the DIY SOS team for a Strictly special.
They all got stuck in on the exciting project of transforming a performing arts school in Wallsend, North Tyneside.
During their time, Katya met dancer Charis who had Down Syndrome and explained that her father Bruce had died just weeks before filming.
She told Katya that dancing was her way of coping with the grief and explained she would be performing a contemporary dance as a tribute to her father.

Charis described her father as “handsome” and “charismatic”, before taking to the stage to perform her solo.
She danced to Stand By Me by Ben E King whilst a selection of family photos appeared on a screen behind her.
Nearing the end of her performance she was joined by her fellow members of True Colours before a heartfelt message was projected on screen, saying: “I love and miss you forever Dad. Love Charis x”.
As the camera panned to the audience, Katya could be seen wiping away her tears after being touched by the emotional performance.
