Strictly Come Dancing star Giovanni Pernice is ruffling feathers behind the scenes as many of the show’s cast and crew claim they are fed up with his behaviour.
Giovanni, 33, has been labelled “out of control” by both members of the show’s crew and professional dancers, who claim his personality is rubbing a lot of people the wrong way. The dancer is said to be rude to many of the new dancers on the show, and believes he is “superior” to them given how long he has been on the series.
A source told Daily Star: “He doesn’t treat the new dancers with much respect. He has not created a welcoming environment for them at all. Many of them don’t really speak to him and just see him passing in the hall."

Even members of the crew and show bosses are unhappy with the star, who were recently fuming after Amanda Abbington quit the series in part due to a “fallout” between the pair. The source added: “They had to inform Gio themselves that Amanda had quit as she didn’t want to talk to him. There is definitely a rift between them and Amanda was not enjoying her time on the show.
"He is bossy and harsh and show bosses have had enough of him throwing a spanner in the works and causing problems.” As the Daily Star exclusively revealed: Gio was “really annoyed” over Amanda's abrupt departure from the show.
Giovanni was reportedly only given the news of Amanda's exit a few hours before the official statement was released on Tuesday. Our source said: “Amanda didn't tell Giovanni she had decided to quit the show. The first he heard was a call from a producer.
“This has really annoyed him. He's barely heard from her for 10 days. She hasn't been replying to messages or telling him what's happening.
“He's been complaining about it to friends. He's frustrated. He is worried the drama will be damaging for his career and make him look bad.”
It comes after Amanda broke her silence about quitting the show as she shared a picture of her dance shoes on Instagram.
The actress didn't reveal why she had quit but instead said she hadn't come to the “decision lightly”.
Thanking her team, but failing to mention Giovanni, she wrote: “It is with deepest regret that I had to leave Strictly. I did not come to this decision easily or lightly but for personal reasons I am unable to continue.”
A representative for Strictly declined to comment when approached by Daily Star.
Strictly Come Dancing returns on Saturday night on BBC One.
