Annabel on how Strictly has helped her through grief
Strictly Come Dancing’s Annabel Croft admitted to “sobbing” while trying to get through 300 letters from fans following the death of her husband Mel Coleman.
Mel lost his battle with cancer in May this year at the age of 60, weeks after being diagnosed.
On Saturday night, fans of the BBC show watched Annabel dedicate her routine to her husband, who she was married to for 37 years.
Her emotional performance left the judges and audiences in floods of tears as they were awarded a total of 35.
During Thursday’s installment of Loose Women, Annabel spoke openly about how she’s coping with her grief.

Speaking to the panellist, she said: “The grief comes in waves and there’s been many days when you’re just sobbing at home.
“I have a pile of 300 letters that I still have to get through, which every time I start them, I just start sobbing, so I can’t even begin to go there at the moment.
“But, with Strictly and meeting Johannes (Radebe) and going on this journey together it literally has distracted me from all of that pain.”
The 57-year-old confessed that there are still hard days for her during her time on the show, although her Strictly partner helps her.

“I’m so grateful for this opportunity to be able to do this.”
Currently, Annabel and Johannes are third on the leaderboard with Nigel Harman and Katya Jones close behind with a total of 33.
However, it’s Ellie Leach and Vito Coppola who are storming ahead with a near-perfect score of 39.
