Strictly’s Krishnan Guru-Murthy dealt crushing blow days before show launch

Krishnan Guru-Murthy will be joining Strictly Come Dancing 2023

Strictly Come Dancing star Krishnan Guru-Murthy has been dealt a crushing blow just days before the 2023 launch.

According to the bookmakers’ latest odds, Krishnan could be the first celebrity to be eliminated from the BBC competition.

On Saturday, the 15 celebrities will take to the ballroom floor for the first time with their professional dancer partners.

There is no elimination this week, but the following Saturday, the contestants will have to fight for a place in the show.

After a public vote, the pairs with the least amount of votes will then have to perform in the dance-off.

It will then be up to the judging panel to decide who they want to stay in the competition.

However, betting site OLBG has predicted Krishnan will be the first to leave.

The Channel 4 newsreader is the early favourite to be eliminated with odds of 5/2.

Jody Cundy and Les Dennis follow close behind their co-star with odds of 3/1 and 4/1.

However, according to the bookies, Bobby Brazier is the one to beat as he is tipped to win the 2023 series.

Following close behind the soap star are Angela Scanlon and Layton Williams.

On Saturday night, hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman will welcome the celebrities and judges before the programme gets underway.

The judges – Craig Revel Horwood, Shirley Ballas, Anton du Beke, and Motsi Mabuse – will also be back in their usual seats to give feedback and criticism.

The launch show will feature three epic routines, including a group number with the new cast and a performance featuring all four of the judges.

Current champions Hamza Yassin and Jowita Przystal will also make a triumphant return, while Jessie Ware performs one of her biggest hits in the ballroom.

Strictly Come Dancing begins on Saturday at 6.35pm on BBC One.
