Strictly’s Nadiya Bychkova ‘disappointed’ as she speaks out on not having a celeb partner

Strictly Come Dancing professional dancer Nadiya Bychkova has shared her disappointment at being left without a celebrity partner for the 2023 series, as she spoke out for the first time since the launch show.

Nadiya was paired with singer Matt Goss last year, but this year, she will be watching from the sidelines and taking part in the professional dance numbers in the coming months.

The programme returned on Saturday, 16 September, and after the episode concluded, Nadiya took to Instagram to update her fans on her situation in an honest post.

She wrote: "I’m sure you’ll understand that I'm disappointed not to be partnered with a celebrity on @bbcstrictly this series.

"It is an amazing show to be a part of, and I’m still so excited for all the group numbers, performing with some of our music acts and much much more."

The 34 year old finished by saying: "I’m also looking forward to supporting my fellow pros, and I want to wish all the couples the best of luck for the competition this year."

The star was met with a wave of supportive comments from fans, co-stars and former celebrity partners.

Her co-star and boyfriend Kai Widdrington wrote: "Always shining bright" followed by a diamond emoji, and a red heart emoji.

Former Strictly pro Oti Mabuse commented: "Sending you love and hugs."

Nadiya's 2022 partner, Dan Walker, told her: "No one puts the Yorkshire Barmaid in a corner. Keep shining partner."

While a viewer said: "A very dignified comment from a beautiful lady. Huge mistake from the BBC. You dance with your heart and soul and are an exquisitely beautiful dancer. Such a shame, but keep shining bright."

The reason behind Nadiya is without a celeb partner has not been confirmed. The launch show on Saturday night revealed who the celebrities have been paired with for the coming months.

EastEnders star Bobby Brazier has been partnered with Dianne Buswell, while Layton Williams and Nikita Kuzmin form this year's all-male pairing. Ex-Love Islander Zara McDermott is working with Graziano Di Prima, while comedian Eddie Kadi is partnered with longest serving professional dancer Karen Hauer.
