Nikita emotional following Strictly feedback
Strictly Come Dancing professional dancer Nikita Kumin found himself overcome with emotion after he and celebrity partner Layton Williams received sensational feedback from the judges.
Speaking to Claudia Winkleman ahead of getting the scores for their dance, he admitted he was close to tears.
“This is so much fun. I’m having the time of my lifetime, honestly,” he said.
“And just to experience this I’m almost on the verge of crying just from how much emotions I’m having,” he admitted.
“And it’s honestly, it’s all thanks to this man [Layton]. He listens to me, he puts all the effort in, he makes stupid jokes all the time, which makes me laugh. But he really concentrates and gives me everything,” the dance pro added with his voice cracking.

His remarks came after the same-sex pairing performed an energetic quickstep to Puttin’ On The Ritz which ended with them doing a dramatic slide across the floor on their knees.
In the rehearsal clip before their performance, Layton got upset when Nikita used the word basic to describe the step, thinking he was referring to him.
However, judge Craig Revel Horwood was quick to reassure him after the dance ended, saying: “There was certainly nothing basic about that. You are ridiculous! That is incredible.”
Both Motsi Mabusi and Shirley Ballas gave them a standing ovation after the dance and their feedback was equally as enthusiastic. “Amazing! This was the dance of the night end of story,” Motsi gushed.
Meanwhile, Shirley admitted: “I’m a little bit lost for words actually…I was quite surprised when you got connected and you had such difficult choreography you kept up with.

“It’s not easy. You are not trained in Ballroom but I can see that you are determined to show the country that you will get these fundamentals no matter what, congratulations.”
Anton Du Beke was equally impressed telling them: “That was ridiculous and remarkable and extraordinary!”
The judges’ remarks were reflected in the scores with the panel giving them four nines, leading Claudia Winkleman to point out that it was the second time that had ever happened in show history.
That meant they jumped to the top of the leaderboard with 65 points, including last week’s score.
The Strictly Come Dancing results show is on BBC One at 7.15pm on Sunday October 1.
