Hannah Waddingham admits that she and Brett Goldstein thought Ted Lasso would be cancelled after one run
Apple TV’s hit sports comedy series Ted Lasso returned to screens on Wednesday with a jam-packed episode and major developments for all its characters.
This included AFC Richmond’s PR consultant Keeley Jones (played by Juno Temple) and the team’s captain Roy Kent (Brett Goldstein).
The episode titled International Break kicked off with a focus on the KJPR CEO after the controversial leaking of intimate videos.
She was also heartbroken by her girlfriend, Jack’s (Jodi Balfour) reaction which led to their abrupt break-up.
As a result, their split also affected their professional relationship as Jack was the venture capitalist funding KJPR.

After it pulled its funding, Keeley was forced to close the doors of her company.
Thankfully, AFC Richmond’s owner Rebecca Welton (Hannah Waddingham) was able to replace the funding.
However, during the heartwarming scene viewers were struck to see Keeley’s ex-boyfriend Roy make his way downstairs, wearing her pink robe.
Fans took to Twitter with excitement as the beloved couple had gone their separate ways earlier in season three but now, it appeared the spark was back.

Elsewhere in the episode, Roy wrote Keeley a sweet apology letter which viewers got a glimpse of him writing while the team watched the international match.
Although he tried to subtly drop it off, she caught him and made Roy read it out loud because she could never make out his handwriting.
Roy apologised for making her feel like she wasn’t “Keeley f******g Jones” and added: “I love you,” at the end.
