The Great British Sewing Bee in major hosting shake up as Sara Pascoe leaves BBC show | The Sun

THE Great British Sewing Bee has announced a major shake-up as it introduces a brand new host for the show.

Comedian Sara Pascoe will not front the upcoming edition of the show following the birth of her second child.

Instead, she will be replaced by a star of the acclaimed BBC comedy Ghosts.

Kiell Smith-Bynoe will be stepping in to present the upcoming tenth series of the show as well as a brand new Christmas special after previously appearing as a celebrity guest.

The show confirmed the news on X – formerly Twitter – with a brand new snap of the host and his co-star judges, Patrick Grant and Esme Young.

They said: "We're bursting at the seams that Kiell Smith-Bynoe has stepped in to host this year’s Christmas Special and Series 10. (Sending lots of love to Sara and her new baby!) #SewingBee."

Sara had presented the programme for the last two series after joining the BBC hit in 2021.

Prior to her involvement as host, fellow comedy star Joe Lycett and Strictly Come Dancing and The Traitors host Claudia Winkleman helped to turn the programme into an unlikely ratings hit.

Kiell, 34, from London will switch from actor to presenter for his new position on the programme.

As well as his lead role in the sitcom Ghosts, he has appeared in laugh out loud hits such as Man Like Mobeen and Stath Lets Flats.

Kiell's appointment on the show comes after he took part in the 2021 Christmas special edition.

Already this year he has appeared on primetime favourites such as The Weakest Link, Taskmaster and Richard Osman's House of Games.

Following the confirmation he would be taking on the role, one fan was left ecstatic as they said: "This will be magic. The thread that joins us and keeps us watching this truly inspiring sewing adventure."

Sara has taken a break from the show after welcoming her second child.

The 42 year old married comedian Steen Raskopouls in 2020 before the pair welcomed a baby in 2022 after a series of fertility struggles.
