Every year Hollywood churns out Christmas movies, but only a few become lasting classics worthy of returning to each year. One of them has to be 2006 rom-com The Holiday, which followed Kate Winslet and Cameron Diaz swapping their California and English homes for the holidays. And it wasn’t long before both were swept off their feet by Jude Law and Jack Black. Now almost two decades on and the festive film is reportedly getting a sequel.

According to The Sun’s source, The Holiday 2 has all four members of the original cast signed on to start shooting in the UK and Europe next year.

The insider said: “It’s one of the most successful movies of its kind and still enjoyed every year by millions of fans around the world – it makes perfect sense to revisit those characters and find out what became of their lives after they hooked up. It’ll be funny, poignant, and heartwarming – just what everyone wants for Christmas.”

The original film cost $70 million but made over $200 million at the box office despite mixed to positive reviews.  It’s not clear what the plot will be, but given that it’ll be shooting in Europe, presumably the four will be heading there for their next Christmas break.
