The Repair Shop fans in tears over story as woman gets dad’s skates repaired

BBC favourite The Repair Shop had fans getting emotional yet again as the expert team of workers delivered some impressive work on a variety of objects.

But one lady had a particularly emotional reaction to seeing her late dad’s beloved roller-skates brought back to life by the incredible Suzie.

The brown leather skates, which had been the guest’s father’s favourite thing to play with as a young boy, had also gotten him through a tough childhood in the 1930s.

Upon seeing them completely repaired, Julia instantly became emotional.

“As I touch them I can feel him,” she said through sobs.

“There were very few times where he said he was happy but this was one of them.

“So to have this part of his life, back through the skating boots, it’s just wonderful for me.”

Suzie smiled and she said: “It was wonderful for me to work on these… they’re so interesting and detailed but the personal story as well.”

Taking to Twitter, viewers were left emotional by the scenes.

“Those roller skates,” one person posted next to a heart emoji.

Another cried: “Cannot be crying over a pair of roller skates.

“Must be the hay fever playing up.”

A third lamented: “Best programme on TV love it but just know it’s going to be emotional.”

While a fourth shared: “Oh I’m crying that’s it.”
