The View’s Meghan McCain says she’s not in NY after neighbor calls her out for claiming protests made area a ‘war zone’ – The Sun

THE View’s Meghan McCain revealed she is not actually in New York City after being called out by a neighbor amid claims her area is a “war zone.”

Yesterday, the 35-year-old TV host posted an explosive tweet that said “Manhattan is eviscerated and looks like a war zone” due to the ongoing protests.

However, after being checked by someone who lives in the same apartments as Meghan, she has explained her previous message.

“I am six months pregnant – a gossip organization is about to run a story of where me and my family are currently.

“I sent a tweet yesterday based on the news I saw happening in midtown we all have been watching all over different media platforms,” the Arizona native said.

She continued to say she does “support peaceful protests” and “the movement.”

But the outspoken blonde added she is “absolutely heartbroken about the destruction in the city I have loved since I moved to when I was 18.

“It is important to have your voice heard and I hope everyone stays safe and healthy.”

Although it’s unclear where she is currently quarantining, the daughter of late senator John McCain is believed to be in her hometown of Phoenix.

All week, protests have taken place across the country after video footage in Minneapolis showed white officer, Derek Chauvin, fatally kneeling on George Floyd's neck during an arrest.

The protests on Monday night in New York City saw some looters ransacking local designer stores on the Upper West Side.

Yesterday morning, The View host tweeted: "My neighborhood in Manhattan is eviscerated and looks like a war zone.

“DeBlasio and Cuomo are an utter disgrace. This is not America.

"Our leaders have abandoned us and continue to let great American cities burn to the ground and be destroyed. I never could have fathomed this.”

Kristen Bartlett, the co-head writer of Full Frontal With Samantha Bee, responded: ”Meghan, we live in the same building, and I just walked outside. It’s fine.”

Meghan fired off her thoughts of the local protests earlier this week: "New York has officially, pathetically and completely imitated art – and morphed into the final scene in The Joker.”

Last week, Meghan said that George’s family should have a private autopsy after initial reports claimed medical examiners did not determine his death was caused by traumatic asphyxia or strangulation.

She wrote: “I don’t know what kind of s**t is attempting to be pulled here but we all know what we saw happen to George on video.

“There is a deep, festering rot of corruption and Americans will NOT stand for this."
