Lorraine reacts to Holly Willoughby’s This Morning departure
This Morning will reportedly undergo a major revamp in the new year following Holly Willoughby’s exit from the show.
According to The Sun, ITV bosses are after a “new Phillip [Schofield] and Holly”, both of whom left the show suddenly this year.
Phillip left in May after admitting to an affair with a younger male colleague, while Holly quit her role this week.
Currently, Alison Hammond, Craig Dole, Josie Gibson, Dermot O’Leary and Rochelle Humes are hosting the shows in rotation nad have been alongside Holly ever since Phillip’s exit.
“This Morning boss Martin Frizell will continue to lead the charge and is working tirelessly to give viewers what they want — a warm, buzzy, feel-good magazine show, marshalled by two fresh new anchors.”
They went on to claim to the publication that “a stream of exciting presenters” would be meeting with producers until the pairing with the “perfect chemistry” is discovered.
Express.co.uk has reached out to ITV for comment.
The morning programme has been on the air for 35 years, with original host and current Good Morning Britain presenter Richard Madeley recently joining Holly and Josie on the show to discuss the milestone anniversary.
Holly announced her decision to leave on Tuesday, taking to Instagram to explain to fans.
The 42-year-old posted: “I have let ITV know today that after 14 years, I will not be returning to This Morning.

“This is such a difficult goodbye, you are incredible and I forever will be proud of what we’ve done together.
“Thank you to everyone at ITV for being supportive. To every guest who has sat on our sofa, thank you.
“Most of all, thank you to the wonderful viewers. You’ve been so loyal, so supportive and the very best company every day.
“Richard and Judy said ‘we only look after this show, it will always belong to the viewers’. It’s been an honour to just be part of its story and I know this story has many chapters left to go.
“Sadly, however, I now feel I have to make this decision for me and my family. I will miss you all so much. Holly.” (sic)
This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV.
