This Morning’s Holly Willoughby splashes out on a powerful telescope to help her get closer to the moon

THIS Morning’s Holly Willoughby has forked out £4,800 on a powerful telescope after becoming obsessed with astronomy and “celestial beings”.

The 40-year-old, who recently launched a website called Wlyde Moon, treated herself to the Celestron telescope, which is so powerful it can photograph the moon.

She said: "I’m always amazed at the magic that’s on the other end of the telescope.

"It’s like when I put my eye to the lens I’ve just zipped up my astronaut suit and I’m in space staring at all of these celestial beings.

"I feel so connected not only to the moon in that moment but also to the Earth.

"It makes me realise how tiny we actually are and yet how we’re all part of something much bigger.

"I spend most of my holidays gazing up at the night sky and there’s no better bit of kit than a Celestron telescope to help capture the moon."

Holly surprised her fans earlier this year when she revealed her new lifestyle website  – an online space that champions women, nourishes the soul, explores crystal energies and gives style tips.

On the site, which has echoes of Gwyneth Paltrow's lifestyle brand Goop, she explains how she rediscovered herself while filming I'm A Celebrity in Australia without her family – and is now a huge fan of sound baths.

She explained: "Australia is the land of alternative therapies, and the town that I was in truly had all kinds of things for all kinds of people.

"Through this wonderful kinesiologist called Josie, I really started to unlock pieces of myself and when I came back to England, I knew that I didn’t want to stop everything I’d learnt.

"Now I have things in my own hypothetical toolkit, like meditation and sound baths, that really work for me."
