Good Morning Britain host Ranvir Singh snapped at Travel Secretary Grant Shapps in a scathing rant. Ms Singh argued the UK Government had been very unclear with its advice to Britons about travelling for holidays during the coronavirus pandemic and which countries to travel to. While the Government has insisted Britons should not travel to countries on the amber travel list unless necessary, it is no longer illegal to do so.
She demanded Mr Shapps be more clear about what the Government wanted people to do who have already paid for their holiday to amber list countries but are unable to get a refund from travel companies as they claim it is not illegal to do travel to them.
Ms Singh said: “The Government, the Prime Minister himself and Matt Hancock are saying don’t go to amber list countries unless there is a real reason to go.
“Most of these are just holidays for leisure of course.
“So you pay for it, the holiday company are saying we can’t refund that money because it is not illegal to go.

“But if you do go then you have to isolate for 10 days when you come back.
“Most people can’t afford to do that because they are working.
“What do you want those families to do?
“To lose the money or and not go or to go against Government advice because those are literally the only two options families have.”
