OUTKAST burst onto the scene in the early noughties with their incredibly catchy tune, Hey Ya!.
Fast forward over two decades and fans of the band may wonder what Andre 3000 is up to now, all these years later.
What happened to Andre 3000 and why did he stop making music?
Born in Atlanta, Georgia on born May 27, 1975, Andre Lauren Benjamin, better known as Andre 3000, is an American rapper, singer, musician, songwriter, record producer, and actor.
He is best known for being one-half of the Southern hip hop duo Outkast, alongside fellow Atlanta-based rapper Big Boi.
The duo released six successful studio albums, which contained hit singles including Hey Ya!, Ms. Jackson, and Roses.
In fact, Hey Ya! was so well received that Outkast won a Grammy Award for Best Urban/Alternative Performance.

After the duo split in 2007, Andre became less active as a solo act compared to Big Boi, although he had a number of highly-acclaimed guest appearances on songs and albums by numerous artists.
This saw him earn another Grammy Award among seven nominations as a solo artist
However, Andre took a step back from music after developing anxiety and writer's block.
During an interview with the Broken Record Podcast he said that he had questioned whether he's even supposed to make music at all.

Speaking to host Rick Rubin: "I haven't been making much music, man. My focus is not there. My confidence is not there.
"I tinker a lot. I'll just go to a piano and sit my iPhone down and just record what I'm doing … but I haven't been motivated to do a serious project.
"I'd like to, but it's just not coming. In my own self I'm trying to figure out where do I sit? I don't even know what I am and maybe I'm nothing.
"Maybe I'm not supposed to be anything."
Where is Andre 3000 now?
Andre continues to work in the entertainment industry, but as an actor.
He has acted in films and television series such as Families, The Shield, Be Cool, Revolver, Semi-Pro, High Life, Four Brothers, and in the lead role of Jimi Hendrix in All Is by My Side.
He also played Fredwynn on the AMC series Dispatches from Elsewhere, and was featured in the 2023 adaptation of the Don DeLillo novel of White Noise.
Is Andre 3000 married and does he have children?
As of 2023, Andre 3000 is not married.
He was in a relationship with singer Erykah Badu from 1996 to 1999, and during their time together they had a son called Seven Sirius Benjamin.
The star welcomed his only child on November 18, 1997.
