Although not much is known about Colette's personal life, Coleen does occasionally share a glimpse into their mother and daughter bond.

In May 2022, Coleen posted a sweet snap of her rarely-seen mum to celebrate her birthday.

The throwback snap showed the women sitting at a restaurant and enjoying some glamorous looking cocktails.

She captioned the post: "Happy Birthday to an extremely special person, My Mum.

"Have the best time celebrating, I love you so much and appreciate everything you do for me and us all,'' followed by a red love heart emoji.

A few years prior in 2019, Coleen called on her mum for support after she gave husband Wayne a marriage ultimatum.

Colette flew to the US to be with her daughter after Coleen warned Wayne to curb his out-of-control drinking.

What has Coleen Rooney's mother Colette said about Wayne Rooney in the past?

Colette spoke of her son-in-law, former England star Wayne Rooney, ahead of her daughter's new Disney+ documentary – Coleen Rooney: The Real Wagatha Story, which launched on the streaming service today (October 18, 2023).

In dramatic scenes, Coleen's mum can be seen reacting to her son-in-law's boozy night out with party girl Laura Simpson in 2017.

Wayne had met Laura in a bar in Alderley Edge, Cheshire.

On the night of their meeting, the former England football hero had been pulled over by the police -was three times the limit and driving the car of Simpson, then 29.

Wayne maintains he simply drove her home because she was too drunk to be in control of the car.

Discussing Wayne's behaviour at the time, Colette says: ''As parents you don't want your daughter to be going through that. You're mad, you're angry. All you want to do is protect her.

''She was speaking to Wayne who's trying to sort things out. I love him but sometimes I don't like him. I feel like shaking him. He's hurt Coleen and that's what matters."

Colette later added: "Wayne apologised to us, to Coleen, and then again it was up to her what she wanted to do. We said to her we will stick by you whatever you choose. We will stick by you."
