Saturday Kitchen returns for another busy episode this weekend, and it is regularly hosted by Matt Tebbutt. The presenter took over from James Martin, and he sometimes shares the role with Andi Oliver and Michel Roux Jr. Fans are keen to know why Matt is not on the cooking show this weekend.
Where is Matt Tebbutt on Saturday Kitchen?
Saturday Kitchen is a staple part of the BBC’s morning schedule at the weekends and it offers up plenty of cooking tips each week.
Matt Tebbutt first stepped in back in 2016, when regular host James Martin left to focus on other commitments.
From 2016 onwards he became the main host of the programme and enjoys chatting with other celebrity chefs each week.
From 10am today (October 23), Shivi Ramoutar will be hosting the show, joined by chefs Yotam Ottolenghi and Noor Murad.
Viewers will also hear from special guest Jordan North – but where is Mark and when will he be back?
The TV chef is on Instagram but he has not given anything away about why he is absent from the show.
It is not unusual for the main presenter to take time off and another chef to step in temporarily.
Matt could be taking a temporary break to spend time with family or deal with other commitments.
Fans will be pleased to hear Matt is only taking a week off, as he will be back on the programme the following weekend, on October 30.
Upon his return, he will be joined by chefs Marcus Wareing and Rachel Allen, and special guest Al Murray.
Helen McGinn will also join in via video link to pick the wines to go with the studio dishes.
He may not have revealed much about his weekend plans this week, but Matt has been sharing some cooking updates with fans.
During the week he shared a photo of some chillis he had grown and harvested, saying: “Not a bad harvest and thankfully not as tongue-blistering as the #saturdaykitchen sauces!”
He also shared a delicious recipe from his latest book, saying: “Feels like a spicy fried chicken and pineapple chutney day today… recipe taken from my new cookbook Weekend.”
Fans took to the comments to say how much they enjoy watching him on the show.
They recalled the moment he ate some hot chillis on his latest episode of Saturday Kitchen.
He used to run a restaurant with his wife, but gave it up in order to focus on his TV career.
He would often present Saturday Kitchen whilst James Martin was away, and fans enjoyed watching him in the role.
The TV chef has also contributed to the Great British Menu and Channel 4’s Drop Down Menu.
Fans will be looking forward to his return next weekend, when he will be cooking up more spectacular dishes.
Saturday Kitchen airs on Saturdays at 10am on BBC One.
