Will there be a season 2 of Showtrial?
There is yet to be confirmation from the BBC on whether Showtrial will return for a second season.
However, actress Tracy Ifeachor hinted at the possibility when she seemed open to the idea in a conversation prior to the first series premiere.
“I really don’t know, but what I would say is, you know, Cleo Roberts is a solicitor, and you know, she’s just gonna keep going,” she told RadioTimes.com. “Talitha’s life is going to keep going.”

What happened in season 1 of Showtrial?
Student Hannah Ellis goes missing and detectives plead with the public to come forward with any information.
Talitha Campbell, the heir of one of Britain’s richest families and a student at the same university as Hannah, is arrested in connection with her disappearance and lead detective, DI Paula Cassidy, is certain she was involved.
Talitha doesn't share much empathy for Hannah’s whereabouts as the police attempt to locate her.
DI Cassidy tries to convince Crown Prosecutor James Thornley, who is determined that this case needs to be done by the book, given the keen public interest.
Talitha relies on her defence solicitor, Cleo Robets.
Cleo must steer Talitha through her intensive and combative police interviews and evade Cassidy’s questions.
Her job becomes increasingly difficult as Talitha’s attitude becomes even more reluctant, and with new evidence that comes up, it changes the nature of the case entirely.
Hannah Ellis’s case proves to be a case which will divide the country.
The Showtrial's official synopsis is: "When Talitha Campbell, the estranged daughter of a wealthy property developer, is charged with conspiring to murder fellow university student Hannah Ellis, the trial that follows places victim and accused — and their families — in the eye of a media storm. Into that storm enters Cleo Roberts, the duty solicitor on the night of Talitha’s arrest.
"Refusing her father’s help, Talitha wants Cleo to lead her defence against a prosecution weaponizing Talitha’s gender as well as her social privilege against her."
The series is filmed and set around Bristol, and follows the case from arrest to verdict, giving viewers a deep dive into Talitha's story and the case surrounding her.
How can I watch it?
Showtrial is available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
