A Florida skydiver landed on a man's driveway and died

Reflection catches final moments of skydiver’s life before he landed in Florida yard

  • An unidentified man who was skydiving landed and died in a homeowner’s yard
  • A neighbor’s surveillance camera captured the moment from Saturday 
  • Titusville Police are still investigating the incident 

This is the bizarre moment a man’s fatal skydiving accident was caught on surveillance video seconds before he hit the ground and died. 

Around 12.25pm Saturday, the man was seen in the reflection of the back car window that was parked in the driveway of a Titusville, Florida, home. 

The unnamed skydiver hit the pavement and was found dead.

‘He landed right here,’ James Sconiers, the owner of the house told WKMG.

Sconiers approached the man and repeatedly asked if he could hear him, but got no response.

The man was found wearing neon yellow parachute gear.

Sconiers, a Vietnam Veteran, said: ‘Look at the video and look at what happened. Why did he fall so hard if all the safety mechanisms in place? Something tells me there’s a problem there.’ 

Police revealed the man was found just about a block away from the Arthur Dunn Airpark.

The airpark is home to the Skydive Space Center. When asked about the incident by WKMG, center officials refused to comment.

It is unclear if the man was skydiving by himself or if he was with others. 

At the time of the accident, the Titusville Fire Department post on X and said: ‘**Skydiver down** Report of skydiver down on Merry Ln. this located just adjacent to Arthur-Dunn Airpark.’

The airpark is home to the Skydive Space Center. When asked about the incident by WKMG, center officials refused to comment 

No further details have been released on what exactly happened, but Sconiers insisted that the Florida community needs answers. 

‘God forbid I’m right here, you know, and from a safety perspective we need to make sure things is the way it’s supposed to be,’ Sconiers said.

Titusville Police said they would release more information once the investigation is complete.
