Boxing champion Tyson Fury’s plans to demolish house and build a dream £4M mansion in its place are knocked out ‘after protected BATS were found nesting in the loft’
- Tyson Fury, 34, wanted to knock down house and build another one on the site
- But some bats have made that dream impossible so he will extend current one
Tyson Fury has abandoned plans to knock down a house and build another £4million mansion on its site after protected bats were found in his loft.
The boxer – who is the heavyweight world champion – wanted to have a six-bedroom property put up, complete with swimming pool.
But investigations into the current property in Cheshire uncovered some surprising house guests.
Two protected species of bat were found in the loft, causing a huge headache for the prize puncher, 34.
Now Fury and wife Paris, 33, have abandoned their plans and instead will simply extend the current property.

The Sun reports the bats meant the boxer would have needed a special licence from Natural England before the work could be done.
That is because it is an offence to intentionally or recklessly disturb the winged creatures of the night.
Should he have still wanted to go ahead with the demolition Fury would have had to have erected tree bat boxes for the flying rodents.
Instead they are going to add to the current eight-bedroom mansion with an extension – if the planning permission gets approved.
The plans also feature designs for a garage and leisure suite, which will boast the luxury facilities of a hot tub and plunge pool

They want a new basement music room, games room, breakfast room, garden room and cinema.
The plans also feature designs for a garage and leisure suite, which will boast the luxury facilities of a hot tub and plunge pool.
In a design statement, Fury’s planning agent said the leisure facilities were ‘incidental to the enjoyment of the dwelling house’.
Fury and Paris currently live with their six children in a £1.7million home in Morecambe, Lancs.
But the new house is in Cheshire and is nearer to his brother Tommy and Love Island girlfriend Molly-Mae Hague, both 23.
Planners at Cheshire East council are set to decide on the application in April. So far, no-one has objected.
Fury’s agent said there was ‘no reasonable basis’ to refuse as the proposals were too far from local homes to ‘impact on their amenities’.
A representative for Mr Fury has been contacted by MailOnline for comment but had not responded by the time of publication.
