A handcuffed parolee escaped from his parole officer in Queens — and remained on the loose Wednesday, police said.
Dwight Dobson, 27, was in custody for a parole violation around 10:30 p.m. when he somehow slipped away from a parole office on Merrick Boulevard in Jamaica, police said.
Dobson had previously served three years at Edgecombe Correctional Facility for criminal possession of a weapon, according to a NYS Department of Corrections spokesman.
He was conditionally released in December 2015 but was back behind bars in March of last year. He was cut loose again in May.
On Tuesday, Dobson fled from the parole office during a scheduled visit, when authorities determined he “may have violated his parole” and tried taking him into custody, according to spokesman Thomas Mailey.
“DOCCS’ Office of Special Investigations and parole officers along with State and local law enforcement are currently conducting a search for the parolee,” Mailey continued. ” As the investigation is on-going, we have no further comment.”
Police described Dobson as being 5-foot-9 and 180 pounds with dreadlocks. He was last seen wearing blue sweatpants.
