A PERVERT put on a dress and silver wig before stalking and sexually assaulting a teenage girl as she jogged by his home.
Mark Brown, 30, was described as a “dangerous sexual predator” after chilling CCTV showed him sprinting after his victim in Newington Green, North London.
The fiend, already on the sex offenders register for a string of other crimes, chased the victim for 500m before striking.
Despite initially denying he was in the footage, Brown was convicted of sexual assault at Wood Green Crown Court.
'DANGEROUS SEXUAL PREDATOR'
The perv had pulled on a dress, wig and leather jacket as he saw the girl run past his flat at 3.55am on September 20 last year, jurors were told.
Footage shows him sprinting down the stairs before throwing himself out of the apartment building’s door and tearing off across the street.
The victim, aged in her late teens, was unaware of anyone following her until Brown placed his hand on her shoulder.
Before she had a chance to turn around, she was sexually assaulted.
The girl tried to push Brown away and shouted at her attacker, but she was pushed to the floor.
She continued kicking and screaming but she had her eyes closed.
When she opened her eyes, Brown had fled and she only saw him running off in the distance.
FANCY DRESS ATTACK
Brown was eventually arrested and charged after detectives saw the footage of him running out of his flat wearing the wig.
During his police interview, he was shown the CCTV and a still of him without the wig on – but he denied it was him and claimed it was a woman.
When quizzed on the wig, he initially responded with “no comment,” before telling officers that he had bought it for a fancy dress party but he “threw it out ages ago.”
Brown was lying in wait, in disguise, ready to pounce on his unsuspecting victim.
Brown now faces sentencing on August 14.
DC Giash Uddin, from the Met Police, said: “Brown is a dangerous, sexual predator and I am pleased that the jury agreed with the overwhelming evidence we gathered against him.
“Brown was lying in wait, in disguise, ready to pounce on his unsuspecting victim.
"He has refused to admit his guilt throughout and forced his victim to re-live her traumatic ordeal by going to trial.
“I’d like to praise the victim for her courage and cooperation throughout our investigation.
"I hope that Brown being brought to justice will give her a small measure of comfort and closure.”
