A WOMAN who stalked Danniella Westbrook online and terrorised other social media users with vile abuse has been jailed for three years.
Natasha Dawn, 43, pleaded guilty to three counts of stalking at Nottingham Crown Court on Friday.
Dawn subjected the former EastEnders' actress to a barrage of insults on both Instagram and Twitter.
When homeless charity worker Barrington Patterson and his wife Tracey stuck up for Westbrook online, Dawn bombarded the couple with messages.
One of the messages included false accusations of paedophilia, The Daily Mail reports.
The court heard how Dawn was "lonely" and that she operated as a "full-time troll".
She was said to torment her victims with up to 80 messages a day over a period of nine months.
The 43-year-old claimed that Mr Patterson had abused children and lied about his cancer diagnosis.
Dawn also sent Mr Patterson racist messages and taunted him about his deceased mum.
Following Dawn's conviction, Danniella took to Twitter to share some of the abuse she had received from the vile troll.
"Just some of the hate Tracey and I received six years of hate and daily trolling. Now finally Tasha the troll is behind bars for three years," the actress posted to Twitter.
Dawn was arrested in 2019 after investigations found that she had sent abusive messages to a number of social media users.
She had been slapped with a restraining order and was banned from contacting a number of people online.
"Dawn's behaviour throughout this period was genuinely shocking and I am pleased she has now been brought to justice," Detective Sergeant Lee Kirk, of Nottinghamshire Police said.
"Our investigations found she had abused a number of people on social media and I hope this sentence provides her victims with some degree of comfort.
"Stalking behaviours such as harassment shouldn't be tolerated by anyone at any time and I want to send out a clear message that in Nottinghamshire it will not be accepted."
