Fake Lego terrorist toys sold on eBay spark fury: Online auction giant says sorry after ‘distasteful Middle Eastern’ figurines armed with ‘AK-47 and RPGs’ were advertised to children
Fake Lego ‘Middle Eastern’ terrorist figures armed with AK-47s and rocket launchers have appeared on eBay being advertised for children.
The ‘insurgent’ soldier figurines were being sold by an American-based seller at around £17 each and described as being made with ‘100% Lego parts’ and suitable for ‘children over five years old’.
There were around eight different figures and all had beards and were wearing a keffiyeh – a traditional headdress worn by men from parts of the Middle East – with them all carrying ‘warrior weapons’ such as AK-47s, rocket launchers, and rocket-propelled grenades.
The offensive figures have since been pulled from the online retailer’s site and eBay has issued an apology after one anonymous mother reacted with fury about the ‘distasteful’ figures amid Hamas terrorists butchering up to 1,500 Israelis since October 7, with at least 200 being taken hostage.
The mother told Jewish News she was searching Lego mini figures as a present for her son when she made the jaw-dropping discovery.

‘Given recent events, I can’t understand what kind of a person would want their child to play with such “toys”,’ she said.
‘It beggars belief that there should even be a demand for it in the first place.’
The description for one of the figures read: ‘Item for sale is one insurgent Middle Eastern soldier. This Lego was constructed with 100% Lego parts.
‘This means better quality and consumer safe materials. Weapons are not Lego parts. You will receive all weapons shown on pictures.’

eBay said the items were against its offensive materials policy which states listings or content that ‘promote, perpetuate or glorify hatred, violence, or discrimination’ are not allowed.
The online retailer has a raft of actions it can take against those who invoke the policy, included suspending their account.
An eBay spokesperson said: ‘We have removed the listing that breached this policy and conducted further sweeps of our site to remove any similar listings.
‘We take this extremely seriously and will continue to monitor the site.’
In 2017 fake Lego sets aimed at children as young as six depicting ISIS terrorists firing AK-47s and launching sticks of dynamite were pulled from the shelves in Singapore.
While earlier that year ISIS-inspired knock-off Lego was being marketed to Australian children for less than $10.
MailOnline has contacted eBay and Lego for further comment.
There are thought to be around 222 hostages, aged from nine months to 85, being held by Hamas in Gaza, while up to 1,500 Israelis have been massacred by the terrorists.
Hamas has already declared its intention to execute civilian captives one by one if Israel continues its policy of devastating airstrikes on military and civilian targets in the densely populated Gaza Strip.
It comes as Israeli tanks rolled into northern Gaza overnight in the biggest incursion of the war so far to carry out ‘targeted raids’ on ‘terrorist cells’ ahead of a full-scale ground invasion.
The military said ground forces led by the Givati infantry brigade and the 162nd Armored Division attacked multiple targets in the Hamas-ruled enclave in the early hours of Thursday before withdrawing, while warplanes struck more than 250 targets across the Gaza Strip in the past 24 hours.
IDF spokesman Daniel Hagari said the operation lasted a few hours and that no Israeli casualties were sustained.

Israel’s battle-hardened prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned Hamas terrorists in a televised statement that they were ‘doomed’ as he vowed to push ahead with a ground invasion.
‘We are raining hellfire on Hamas. We have already killed thousands of terrorists and this is only the beginning. Simultaneously, we are preparing for a ground invasion. I will not elaborate on when, how or how many,’ Netanyahu said.
