A female American Airlines flight attendant was found dead under ‘suspicious’ circumstances with a cloth stuffed in her mouth, two days after she was supposed to check out of an airport hotel.
The unnamed woman, 66, was found in a room at a Marriott hotel at the Philadelphia International Airport on Monday evening.
Officers rushed to the scene at around 10:40pm after the woman was found unresponsive by a cleaning crew, but police pronounced her dead minutes later.
Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small said upon closer inspection of the body, it was found that she had ‘a cloth in her mouth.’

The woman, who has not been identified, worked as an air hostess for American Airlines
Philadelphia police are still investigating the death, although Small said there were no signs of forced entry into the room and she is believed to have suffered a ‘sudden death.’
Small noted that the flight attendant was also on ‘several medications’ at the time of her death.
According to 6ABC, several unopened bottles of prescription drugs were also found in the room.
No weapons were recovered from the scene, and no arrests have been made in the ongoing investigation, which is reportedly being led by the department’s homicide unit.
Investigators told Action News that the woman was supposed to have checked out two days before she was discovered.
It remains unclear how the hotel did not made the alarming find for several days, and the Marriott hotel group did not immediately respond to a request for comment when contacted by DailyMail.com.
The investigation is ongoing, with investigators saying the death was ‘suspicious’ but the flight attendant ‘died suddenly’ and there were no signs of forced entry
